The iPhone series - part 1: Recovering from a Zipphone disaster
Vodafone will be introducing the iPhone to India, an entire year after the US of A started enjoying the privilege of owning them. On this occasion, we decided to do a series on the much touted device. To its advantage, India now has access to a whole lot of data on the pros and cons of the iPhone… what is good about it, and what is a handicap, how an iPhone can be jailbroken, how to bypass an iPhone’s passcode, etc. This series will try to focus on some of the most prominent lessons learned from the life of the iPhone till date.
This one is for those iPhone owners who have had a disaster of a zipphone trial. In case you do not know, a zipphone is a device used to unlock an iPhone (not the legal way, of course). Since it costs about 1/3 of what a legit device would cost you, the zipphone is very popular. Unfortunately, a lot of people have burned their fingers trying to unlock their iPhone with it. The problem was incompatibility.
You see, a zipphone does not work with a 16GB or 32 GB iPod touch, or iPhone. Instead, it messes those machines up. People have reported ending up with never-ending lines of error messages once the zipphone did not work on their device.
Well, here is a video tutorial on how to put your iPhone on a recovery mode after using zipphone. It was posted on YouTube by a 14 year old Apple/Tech fanatic: Applemaster405. Hope you find it useful, just in case you have had the zipphone misadventure.
