After Sears, It’s J.C. Penny: User Data Compromised

The credit card operations of J.C. Penny are run by GE Money. Yesterday, GE Money came out with an announcement that it has misplaced a back up tape that contained the personal information of  about 650,000 J.C. Penny shoppers. This includes about 150, 000 social security numbers.
